Charm FieldSwab ATP Hygiene Test
Charm FieldSwab ATP Hygiene Test
The Charm FieldSwab is a rapid, user-friendly method for testing ATP (adenosine triphosphate) levels and measuring surface cleanliness.
The hygiene swab is stable at room temperature and is ideal for simple testing, with no need for reagents. You simply swab the surface and analyse the results using the Charm Novalum system.
With the FieldSwab, you can carry out food safety and hygiene-testing programmes on-site, including outdoor locations such as grain storage facilities, farm machinery and irrigation equipment.
Use the Charm FieldSwab to test for:
ATP/Hygiene levels
on surfaces.
Why Choose the Charm FieldSwab?
The FieldSwab has enhanced sensitivity to ATP
Testing takes just 30 seconds
It needs no preparation and comes with a pre-moistened foam tip and biofilm-breaking reagent
You simply swab and analyse.
How Does it Work?
ATP is a molecule found in all living cells and it transfers and stores energy. It comes from bacteria, mould and food residues, or from anything that was once living. Therefore it's very common.
Testing for ATP levels indicates how hygienic an environment is.
When you test for ATP levels, you can measure the potential risk from the presence of high levels of organic residues, including microorganisms.
Using the Charm FieldSwab, you swab a 100cm2 surface while rotating the handle of the swab to get full surface contact.
Then you insert the swab back into its body, screwing it in securely. Holding the entire body upright, you shake it three times.
You now remove the microtube at the tip of the body and insert it into the sample chamber of the Novalum reader.
Select FieldSwab on the reader and it will analyse the swab instantly, providing a reading indicating any levels of food residue, microbial contaminants or other biological material.
Fast, Convenient Hygiene Testing
With easy integration into best practices for hygiene monitoring and control, the Charm FieldSwab provides the perfect rapid testing method.
It has extensive use in processing and packaging facilities in the food industry, and it's well-suited to a broad range of site-specific and outdoor testing requirements.
Surfaces may appear clean, but the naked eye cannot detect all contamination. ATP can verify the cleanliness of surfaces in ways that a visual inspection of them cannot. Using the FieldSwab, you can verify whether your cleaning procedures are working, and detect food product residues on surfaces.
